My Story

Mountbatten is an independant charity which provides end of life care and bereavement support to anyone living on the Isle of Wight.  

Mark Rayment, the founder of Solent Cruises (back in 1976) was given a terminal cancer diagnosis in April 2024 and sadly passed away in June 2024.  The hospice were tending to Mark 4 times a day.  Nothing was every too much trouble for them so here at Solent Cruises we want to raise money for this wonderful charity as a thank you for all their help and assistance with Mark.  

We have decided to do an abseil down the Spinnaker Tower on the 21st September at 11am.  There was a good uptake from the staff volunteering to do this so we randomnly picked 2.  Jake and Steve will be the staff members completing this abseil.  Please please give generously.  The business would not be in existence today if it were not for Mark.  We feel this is the least we can do as a thank you to him and of course to Mountbatten Hospice.
