On Sunday, 14 May, I'm taking part in this year's Walk the Wight - the Island's largest and most iconic fundraising event.
Walk the Wight raises hundreds of thousands of pounds each year to help Mountbatten deliver expert care and support to Islanders when they need it most.
As an independent charity, Mountbatten relies on donations to fundraise over £10 million every year.
But, with every step I take and every pound I raise, more Islanders will face death, dying, and bereavement with Mountbatten by their side.
